The Republic Day Camp (RDC) takes place every year in New Delhi. It culminates in cadet participation in the Republic Day Parade on January 26th at Kartavya Path, which was formerly Rajpath. This camp is seen as the highest achievement for an NCC cadet.
Duration:
It lasts about one month, from early January to January 29th each year.Location:
DG NCC Camp, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi.Participants:
Around 2,000 cadets join from all 28 states and 8 union territories. This includes both Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) cadets. Cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Wings participate as well. Foreign cadets also attend under the Youth Exchange Program (YEP).
Selection Process:
The selection is highly competitive. It begins at the unit level, which is at the college or school. Then, there are battalion, group, and directorate-level selections. Cadets go through multiple pre-RDC camps, about 3 to 4 levels. Only the top cadets are chosen to represent their Directorate at RDC.
